2022年地理科学与规划学院“我心目中的良师”。国家优秀自费留学生奖获得者。现任国际环境信息学协会(ISEIS)的会刊《Journal of Environmental Informatics Letters》的编委和副编辑(Associate Editor)、《Frontiers in Earth Science》、《Frontiers in Environmental Science》和《Frontiers of Ecology and Evolution》的副编辑(Associate Editor)、《Water》的特刊编辑(Special Issue Editor, Special Issue on "A Safer Future—Prediction of Water-Related Disasters")、《人民珠江》的特约编委,曾任《Journal of Environmental Informatics》的管理主编、出版编辑和图片编辑;是《Environmental Systems Research》(Springer出版,2012年创刊)的主要创办人之一;是多个SCI杂志审稿人。近年来主持了中山大学“百人计划”、加拿大阿省环境厅创新基金、中国科学院“海外人才走进科学院”和加拿大环境部科学地平线等基金。作为骨干参与了联合国发展署(UNDP)、加拿大自然基金委(NSERC)、加拿大环境部、阿省、萨省和安省环境厅、国家基金委重大专项、973、863和水专项等支持的科研项目。已在包括Journal of Hydrology, Hydrological Processes, Science of Total Environment, Journal of Environmental Management,Environmental Modelling & Software,European Journal of Operational Research等期刊上发表SCI论文近80篇。

研究方向
主要包括水文气象预报(如暴雨洪水、凌汛、雾霾、热浪以及复合极端事件)、资源环境系统分析(如人地耦合关系、水资源、固体废弃物、大气质量和能源环境管理等)、以及全球变化和响应。所开发的洪水预报模型已经在加拿大Alberta省环境厅河流预报中心实现了业务化应用。
