School of Geography and Planning at the Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China has recently become International School of Geography, as part of a new internationalization initiative of the Ministry of Education and State Foreign Expert Bureau. The School invites applications for 30 tenure-trackpositions at all ranks in Geography, Hydrology, Urban Planning, Regional Development, and other related areas. The starting date can be anytime before the end of 2017, but preference will be given to those who can start immediately.
A Ph.D. in Geography or related disciplines is required by the start of employment. The successful applicants will demonstrate a strong record ofpublishing in prominent outlets. The ability to conduct interdisciplinary research is desirable. Those applying for senior positions are expected to show records of externally funded research.
Salaries will be highly competitive and comparable to those offered by international programs.Non-Chinese nationals are strongly encouraged to apply. Those with administrative experience will be considered for leadership roles of the School.
