Jiming Jin, an associate professor in the Departments of Watershed Sciences and Plants, Soils, and Climate at Utah State University. His research is focused on regional weather and climate modeling and analysis. He is also involved in hydrological cycle modeling and land surface model development. In the meanwhile, he works on agricultural dust modeling with an advanced meso-scale model and attempts to better understand dust emission, transport and deposition over agricultural fields. One of his recent projects is to improve lake model process simulations and investigate the impact of such processes on regional climate using a next-generation regional climate model. He obtained research funds over $ 2.5 million from US NSF, NOAA, EPA, Dept. of Interior, and other agencies, and have published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal papers in the international top journals.
